Greener Pastures
Maryville, TN
A lovingly worn kitchen needed a fresh update to accommodate two exceptional people who love to cook together. Set in the valley of the Smoky Mountains, a transformation took place, a tranquil green kitchen has become their greener reality. By removing the living room wall, clever space planning was essential in creating the most ergonomic layout. A watercolor cloud panel is actually a sound baffle that includes task lighting. This is hung above the two tiered island, forty inch and thirty-six inch heights allows both cooks to work at their comfort. A hidden step stool is placed under the raised sink area to be used as needed. A unique element added was the integration of custom ceramic handles crafted by a local artist.
